Thanks!
I like the GoFlight SECM but I cant find it lower than $300!?
Is there a one for like under $200? That would be awesome..

But im thinking of getting this one that you listed
http://www.goflightinc.com/order/product_info.php?cPath=1&products_id=77

And this one..
http://www.goflightinc.com/order/product_info.php?cPath=1&products_id=78
Instead of the P-8 buttons I may as well get switches with it.

The only question I have is that are they FSX compatible and the second one that I listed can I make the switches work for like changing altitude, speed, heading, and virtical speed?

If I pay for these switches will they need 2 for like turning one on and one off..?

Thanks so much!  Wink

Im not 100% sure on this but I dont think goflight has support for Vista 64bit yet, if you run that check with support at goflight the guys there are really great with pointing you down the right path.....

Yep Goflight products work with FSX and you shouldn't have a problem setting up an autopilot using that product not the switches but the encoders Wink. Just make sure you download the latest config software and hook the USB up directly to the PC or at the very least use a powered USB hub...

Toggle switches will work like actual toggles, here is a quick guide to help you understand:

Momentary--sends a single pulse and doesnt lock into position

[on/off] a toggle or button that locks into two positions (on and off)

[on/off/on] a toggle or button that is on when up off when centered and on again when down

[mom/off] a toggle or button that is normally in the off position but when pressed up will be on and will automatically return to the off position(similar to a momentary switch)

And you get others like:

[mom/off/mom]

[on/off/mom]

so on and so on...... making sense?

There are more types out there but that should give you some lingo to work with Wink

Another crazy cockpit builder is born Grin

You know what I mean?

I suppose I shouldnt have takin your subject title so seriously  Roll Eyes from my experience (all-be-it limited), the use of the words 'rack for gauges' and 'non-pricey' used in the same sentence is a bit of paradox  Wink

Don't forget to check out http://www.desktopaviator.com/

Not the most sophisticated gear in the world... but it does lack that sophisticated price. Smiley

I haven't used Desktop Aviator stuff...however:

1. The panel should work with any aircraft in the sim. You might be limited by the inputs you have, but it should be functional.

2. I can't address warranty at all, why not ask the guy who builds them? I'm sure there is a contact listed on the website.

Last time I contacted GoFlight they sent me a message asking to make sure it was my question and not some computer asking then they said they'll answer so I replyed saying im real its not a computer then they never answer nor replyed back to me.
Its been months and I still have nothing (not even in the spam folder) Angry

Hi Tcco94

I’m not sure if this is what your looking for, but it might be worth a look at, I was thinking of getting it for the Level-D 767.

Hi Tcco94

Glad it helped, apparently the unit is being sold / handled by SimWare

http://www.simw.com

Below is a statement by the developer that appeared as a reply to a question on the Level-D site regarding the units use (the developer’s native language is Korean so bear with him)

**********************************************************

Basically layout of the MCP panel is similar to Boeing's. and rotary buttons have "Push" only.

There two ways of controling cockpit "software" with "hardware" panel.
One is accessing internal variable of simulatiorn and cockpit software. To do this the software must provide interfacing kit(SDK, software development kit). Pete dowson's FSUIPC is the greatest add-on module for FS2004 and FSX.

The other is key-commanding, assigning comnination of keyboard strokes to a button on hardware panel. The key-commanding is simple but cause conflition with other add-ons. For complicated aircrafts, hundreds of key-command are required. Unfortunately, some aircrafts does not have enough key-command definitions.

Another shortcoming of key-commanding is NO two-way communication between simulation software and panel hardware. It's only "Input Device". The panel has display device showing current aircraft status(i.e. engaged autopilot mode, SPD, HDG...). These status and values are varies with controlling of flight computer. The hardware panel can display various data synchronized, if only internal values are accessable. Level-D's 767 support the develpment kits. Very great point of the add-on aircraft!

Our panel products adopts variable accessing and Key-Commanding. Wilco's aircrafts do not have development kits. So, key-commanding is used.

Thanks.
