Start here and work your way back.  Tis is the last page of the Glider and ultralight section:

http://www.simviation.com/fsgliders_38.htm

P.S.  A lot of those DL's are for scenery.  The best thing to do is know the name of the glider(s) you are looking for and use the "search" function.

Hi, only a dull curiosity: how do you do to take off with a glider in FS? You must allways move the glider to a desire flying position? Ther is some AI plane thet can tug you?

I don't know about tugs, but I just slew to a good altitude, and let'er float. I do remember seeing a gauge somewhere though, that acts a bit like a CAT launch.

I think there's a keyboard setting that you set to do that.  You'd have to look there for "summon tow plane" or something like that.

I don't think there's a glider tug in FS9. This feature was introduced with FSX. There are several different ways over it. Check out the link that pepper_airborne posted.

It's called "VET Technology"  from the site pepper_airborne mentioned.

http://www.fsglider.de/frset_e.htm

It doesn't appear to be available as a seperate download, but according to the site, you should be able to add it to any glider from a glider download that includes it. More of a mod than a gauge really.

I think it's Ctrl-Shift-Y (for FSX)...
