I don't know if this is a new idea or not...I was blasting through the Grand Canyon a while ago in my Sabre Jet and thought that it might be great fun to have races through there or other tight courses. But they  would be like rally races where one guy goes through at a time and they are times for a certain distance, maybe penalized for going to high off the course or vearing to far off track. Has anything like this been done before? If not, how could it be done? Is anyone else even interested??? LOL

I know a good F-14 that works in both FS9 and FSX, great handling capabilities, high speed...

I have a few pics of it too.

I've tried something similar before, using EZ-Scenery to build a track down the side of a mountain, and racing down it with a hang glider.  The problem is that FS9 doesn't always portray the accurate position of each plane in multiplayer - planes may seem to jump all over the place, especially when close up.  This would make a mess of any track or planned course as you wouldn't really know if someone had clipped a marker.  I remember the SimV races where the entrants had to fly under a bridge, I went under (as confirmed by the racer on my tail) but to some observers we both missed the bridge entirely.  Such is multiplayer flying, and I'm not sure there is anything we can do about it.

However, the Grand Canyon is an excellent place for microlight racing!  Start at the runway near the rim, the winner is the first to get their wheels wet in the Colorado River and land back on the runway.
