I have downloaded several of the planes posted by incognito for FSX and they have either not worked well foe FSX or files were corrupted. I don't want to seem ungrateful, however I have never had this quanity of marginal downloads from this site (which is great). Wondering If anyone else has had these problems?
Thanks

Scott - It is a downside that in the new system, user uploads that become live before we can check them fully.
('Incongito' simply means it was uploaded without logging in)
If a file is found to be corrupt please report it & it will be removed.

The system is still being worked on & we are trying to incorporate methods to insure that uploads meet certain criteria -

Simviation was founded on a theme of quality. Although times of system upgrade can bring a few teething problems - this theme will not change. User happiness is everything!

Thanks for the reply Pete. Being able to upload files without a login seems to have the downfall of no accountablity. New systems can be very time consuming to get the way its intended to be. I know you guys spend alot of your time working this stuff out for us and its appreciated.
Thanks again

The "Incogneto" upoloads are not so much corrupt, so much as FS9's uploaded to FSX.  I've seen a few that didn't even have thumbnails in the texture files, yet the person who uploaded them claimed they "worked perfectly" in FSX.  I suppose, after also having to close or attemptto run several gauges that were designed for FS98 or earlier, and are no longer supported, and so on.

I half way am beginning to wonder if those sorts of posts, the ones in FSX that are not really FSX add-ons, but are barely even compatable after you have to edit them in some way, are done so for the purpose of smudging Simviations's reputation?  Or am I just being paranoid or defensive, sinced I like this site so much?

That thought had crossed mine mind. Good observation Boikat, seems like an awful lot of posts over a very short time. I have never seen that many new planes posted that quickly.

That thought had crossed my mind too - there are people out there who already try to do just that at other websites ....

Any help would be required in identifying totally incompatible files --- I'm guessing the latest military uploads .....

OK I've finally had the chance to look at a few of these.

The Lightning, F117 Nighthawk, Fairey Delta, Stealth + a couple of others.
I downloaded these & could see right away they were a mess with incompatible or no gauges.

ALL DELETED!

Further reports would be very much appreciated!

We do not want problem files at Simviation!

Thanks!  Smiley

I had a corrupted file with the ILyushin IL96 Pete. I will report any others that I find. Should have been keeping better track of the bad ones.

Thanks
