I have been looking all over for a amphibian model Cessna. I would prefer a C172 becasue that  is what I fly. I have looked and have had no luck. Any body know of one that would work in FSX. I am almost thinking of using the panel of a cessna on a beaver.  Angry

I did a "search" on Simviation, and the only 172 on floats I found was an FS9.  It's a 1956 model, with a straight vertical tail, not swept back like the later models.  I tried it in FSX, and you have to add thumbnails to the texture files, swap or alias a sound file from something like the DH3.  Also, it comes with a guage file that you are supposed to add to your guage folder, but it doesn't work in FSX, so you can probably ignore that. It's called "bvr_yoke".

It's not the greatest looking model, but it works. Your mileage may vary.  Wink

Aye ... The one Roy showed you is probably the only C172 on floats you'll find.

However if you don't mind stepping up to her bigger sister and spending a couple of dollars, try the 206 by Carenado. That really is a stunning package and at $30 dollars it really is a steal You get a couple of different models, like amphibian and cargo versions and a few with wheels (with and without pants). There are loads of repaints available for this aircraft, so you never have to be flying the same aircraft twice. I highly recommend it!

If you'd like to see more check here and Nick Churchill made a couple of gorgeous screenshots of the Carenado 206.

Thanks guys. I guess I will have to keep looking. 30$ is a little steep for me.
