Magny Cours this weekend. This time last year it wasn't even scheduled to be on this year's calendar.. no loss if you ask me but it's here nonetheless..

With Lewis starting from 11th at best, Robert Kubica buzzing after a 1st race win and the Ferraris with a point to prove it should make for an interesting race..  Smiley

ENTRIES CLOSE AT 1200 BST SATURDAY

Tricky one this. Might have to think about it some more! Will Ferrari run there own race or go 'funny' depending on the pace Hamilton shows and try and cover him?

Hmmmmmmmmm

Lewis is in one of those really bad situations with the 10 place drop and being in a quick car.
Mclaren say they want to run him heavy, but of course they will make it into the top 10 which means they have to race with quali fuel. So if they go heavy in Q3 and end up say 5th or 6th, they drop to 15th and or 16th on the grid. Which would never work in a heavy car. Magny cours is about short stints with consistent fast speed. A heavy car gets killed round here, so if they want to stand a chance they are going to have to fill him light go for pole and start 11th on the grid, he'll then just have to use some of that driving talent to get upto around 5th or 6th by the 5th lap, if he can do that a podium is on the cards. But assuming the ferrari's can lock out the front row it'll be a case of everyone else fighting for the 3rd place.

Edit: changed Kubica to Heikki, Looking at the testing, and reading reports from several places, it seems BMW have gone back a couple
of tenths to the top two. I think if ever Heikki had the chance to shine and he really needs to, this will be his best shot.

I think Ferarri have this one in the bag really, although it would be nice to see Heikki get a podium, but I doubt it.

Kova
Massa
Hamilton

Im still unsure - but id like to think Mclaren would do everything in their power to ensure Kova wins, if they are quick enough, just to take points away from ferrari. But im not discounting a Hamilton win, personaly!!

Well thats buggerd up my predictions! I felt sure they would fuel Kova lite to get him pole, to then slow down the 'red team', either for Hamilton to get amongst them, or plainly for a Kova win regardless of what Hamilton did......

But Hamilton seems to have made a few mistakes in his 'hot' lap, and Kova never got there and now goes down the grid (but hey hes driving a McLaren, so penalties are to be expected - i didnt think what he did whilst himself getting blocked by a williams deserved that!)

But still, hoping for  a bit of rain tomorrow, or its a ferrari one two i fear, unless they stuff it up as they somtimes seem able to do.. with no real competition Angry Unless Hamilton can do somthing about it, and its not totaly impossible!

LOL A cheer went up from me when Jarno went backwards, you could just see it coming.Smiley

As for Heikki, Thats a BS penalty, and the poor guy cant catch a break (i'm not saying that because of my predictions)
I really do think someone is out to get the guy.
Alonso's placing was a surprise, as was how slow the Beemers were. I could see a third place for Alonso. It'll now be a case of dry race and no problems for either, and the Ferrari's really will be off down the road fighting amongst themselves.

Autosport suggests 'T Storms' today, other sites say sprinkles! Either way there may, just may be some rain....guess the GP2 race will give us a clue this morning!

great race today. Kind of annoyed that Heikki's penalty cost me the 123 though.
Well driven by Trulli, I give him a lot of stick for his spins but he kept his head brilliantly.

And now Massa is starting to take a grip on the championship. I've not lost faith in him yet. Almost at the start of the season but he's doing it Smiley

And shock of all shocks we are not getting the press conference again despite them having 10 minutes free. And the program ending 7 minutes early. Do ITV hate anyone except Lewis winning that much. Angry

Bah! Not quite the race i wanted it to be - but hey, some are going to go that way Cheesy

Needed rain! A few spots just wasnt enough! So what caused Kimis exhaust  exit to fall off then?  Bizarre - although im not sure it puts Massa in the driving seat for the championship totaly, he 'could' fail to finish Silverstone, Lewis wins and Kimi + Kubica dont score - and its all on its head again!

Kimi was lucky to come away with ANY points, let alone 8..

A good race though, very entertaining.

As has been said, though I'm a big fan of Lewis, even I'm getting sick of the ITV Lewis love in  Roll Eyes

Results up soon  Cool

LOL the thing I find funny is, now the british press are turning on him, and thats being used by Allen as an excuse for his poor performance. And the sad fact is, Lewis still hasn't learned to just shut his mouth and do the job on track. His little, comment before the race about legends being made from the back of the grid and his quite obvious hint that he would do the same was disrespectful to the guys in front of him. He's not in GP2, 90% of the grid arn't paying to be in a seat that they really dont deserve.
I was highly ticked off that they didn't show the lap of Kimi's as they usually do for the track guide, add in the lack of the press conference despite ending the show 8 minutes early, and the endless commercial breaks, it just seems ITV no longer give a damn, now the BBC have the rights.
I will as always give them their due for the 60 years of Silverstone piece. I was looking forward to this one the most and it didn't dissapoint. I Getting to see the clips of the FW14b and Murray Walker, along with the Belguim gp highlights for schumi, just brought back so many memories of perhaps the best time for F1 in my opinion.

Whatever you think of Lewis though, and it seems plenty dont like him - although i think hes bloody good personaly - his first pass on Alonso at turn 3? Just on the main straight - where they appeared to bang wheels i thought was blooming great! Wether Alonso was heavy or whatever, it was good to watch! Cheesy

It would appear that the French director is either an HUGE Lewis or McLaren fan. It seemed like the cameras where on these two the whole race.............Nothing like your car being first on the last lap and the TV coverage is the last half a corner. I bet the sponsors where not too pleased. Still a good race. At Magny-Cours you really do get a feeling of speed when watching. Something that the other tracks don't seem to give.

LOL it was Nigel Mansell who after trouncing Piquet, who at one stage he was 28 seconds behind, kissing the track, and beating piquets fastest lap 12 times, yes 12 times noted that the crowd 'definetley put five seconds in my pocket'

British GP 1987. Classic Race!

From what ive read the Macs have been quick in testing at Silverstone!
