18th August - 1940 - The Battle Of Britain
'The Hardest Day' produced the greatest casualties to both sides during the Battle of Britain, indeed 16 - yes
16
Junkers Ju-87's were lost on this day, with many more damaged, ending its participation in the Battle of Britain.
The veteran of
Blitzkreig
was too vunerable to british fighters and Goring withdrew them to preserve the
Stuka
Force.
My shot depicts a 610 squadron Supermarine Spitfire Mk1A 'bouncing' two lone Junkers Ju-87
Stukas
over the English coast who break for cloud cover......
'The Hardest Day'
The Spitfire Mk1a is from 'just flight' and is a freely downloadable demo of a payware product- you can get it
Here
by clicking on the word 'Demo'. Its 25mb.
The Stuka is one of two or three available here on SIMV.
Sky and weather are FsSkyworld.
Shot composed with Fs Recorder, and taken from default 'spot' view, resized for kb/size restrictions with irfanview.
Thanks for looking

Thanks guys
I wish there was a way in fs9 to replicate 'hits' but i cant find one
In fact i dont think its possible from what ive read? And i didnt want to revert to CFS2 for this contest, although the possibilites would be endless with this kind of shot
I did try and make sure the Stuka on the right was actualy in the sights from the cockpit view however!!! But the lack of hits and the angle does indeed make it look like im shooting at somthing else out of shot , or im wearing 'jam jar bottoms' as glasses

I dont know about on aircraft, but I was playing around with the Spit in FSX shooting at random things on the ground, and it did show hits on the ground.
Great looking shot! Kinda looks like it may be from the perspective of the wingman covering that guy. Very clean, with lots to look at!
My specs... A hard drive, motherboard, graphics card, some memory, a keyboard, mouse, and monitor - in other words, nothing special.

The one thing i like the most more than anything in this shot, is the empty round cases, really captures the moment nicely.
And like everyone else says, this will go far this month, well done!

Hey Horse, meant to ask you. Are those default FSX clouds? They look very nice.
