I am not the only one disatisfied with the Megascenery Southern Cal after paying thirty bucks for it. The San Diego and LA counties runways look like cow pastures with patches of green and brown covering the runway. I have tried to contact the publisher and the distributor but no response. So I disabled it in the Scenery Library and used the default.

I've heard of a couple of good scenery programs and I'd like your recommendation on which one to get. I heard of UTX-USA, GEXn as well as Scenery Tech NA.

Thanks

I agree with you 100%. I have my MegaScenery Sol Cal turned off also. I also have their Phoenix scenery which I'm OK with. I've had all kinds of problems with their Sol Cal. They missed the boat on that scenery. Customer service is non-existent. You can't go wrong with UTX-USA, GEXn . I have them both.

I have MegaSceneryX Dallas, So. Cal, Phoenix and Hawaii.  I like them all, I expecially like flying around So. Cal with all the mountians and Oahu with all the mountains.

Regarding the cow pasture effect.  I have noticed this only on two runways, the one at McKinney, TX and the other was North Island NAS in San Diego.  The latest patch that MegaScenery came out with for So. Cal fixed the runway at North Island NAS.

Anyway I for one am pleased with there product.

I have the "cow pasture" problem with all "coastal" runways such as North Island, Lindbergh Field, Miramar Marine Air Station, and LAX. Airports inland does not have the same problem. I along with many other flight simmer have rpeatedly contacted the manufacturer but I recieved no reply. I believe that the publisher is in Australia.

What patch? I have not heard of one. What does it fix?

Here is the link to the patch, it says that it ensures full compatibility with FSX SP1 and SP2

http://www.megascenery.com/patches.htm

I hope that this solves your problem(s).

I dowloaded the patch and installed it. However, although it corrected some of the problems I have outlined, the overall quality of the software is still somewhat mediocre compared to others in the market.
