LOL cheers Master, it does look a little 'flat' however because ive junked the alpha as it made it 'too shiny' but im struggling to get the alpha to make it look 'right'

Hopefully i can sort that out later - main thing is the patterns - aaaaargh!!!

I've been watching this thread with interest. You have an amazing talent for doing this todayshorse. I'm impressed. Smiley

Quote:
Hey Danno, have you any pictures at all of the top of the wings! I note you say it has a similar pattern on them to the fuselage......i cant see any of it! What about underneath?

I can just about make out the tail, i think i can replicate that - just....

Not sure if it will help but I tracked down the high resolution originals of a couple of photos Danno posted. You can just make out the markings on the underside of the wings.
http://www.airliners.net/photo/Beech-56TC-Turbo/0466996/L/

They look similar to those on the tail. I assume they will be the same on the upper & lower surfaces.

You can just make it out on this one. Save the the image & brighten it up a bit to make it clearer. http://www.phaselocked.co.uk/N951SF_7.jpg

Cheers Hagar - i dont know if its talent - more keeping at it till its right! Ive been using the second link you posted as a basis for the horizontal tail, although in that version of it i can see 'under' the reflection, its kinda how ive got it now.

The wings are still baffling, i think they must be a copy of the horizontal tail but maybe both sides? hmmmm...

It would help if the repaint kit was more clear in what goes where - ive done one tail bit but its appeared underneath, and so on - trail and error to the extreme!

Well we appear to be getting there. Lots of adjusting have got me the tail almost correct (from what i can see in the photographs) And first go on the engine lines has produced a reasonable result, one im reluctant to do again!!! Its not highly accurate - but with the paintkit im using id say its pretty good!!!

If the paintkit had various parts of the aircraft laid out properly to work on im sure i could get it better!!

Just the wings now - is the general opinion that of 'they are the same as the horizontal tail'?

Then the alpha and its not far off i dont think...

That is looking the business!!!

My father is going down to the airfield at some point over the next few days to get some better photo's of the barons wings and tail sections.

I must say, you've done a sterling job!!!

ooo brilliant - just need one good shot of the top of the wings and underneath - the tail would be helpful so i can refine it a bit more!

As i said though the limitations of the paintkit plus the fact its not the same aircraft means its not as accurate as i think it could be, with a really good paintkit - but blame microsoft for that - and my somewhat limited skills - im in no way an expert at this, this is my 5th repaint after all!!! (plus one im stuck on!)

Glad your liking it so far Cheesy

Yeah I'm loving the look, you really have done a sterling job!!! You should be proud of yourself.

I'm yet to get down to Elstree to take some photo's, but just to let you know I haven't forgotten. I'll do it on the way to work tomorrow.

Hi again, I managed to pop down to Elstree. I made the mistake of asking the tower about taking photo's and they got really funny about it.  Undecided

Even though my father's a member, I guess they don't know who I am.

Never mind. I did take a quick peek and I think it's safe to say the wings take the same design as the horizontal tail. Both designs are replicated on the underside of both wings and horizontal tail.

Sorry about the delay!!!

LOL ok m8, no problems, ill get on it later, should therefore be done in a day or two!

So just to confirm, the design on the horizontal tail is replicated on both the top and bottom of the wings - id figured it was both sides of the horizontal tail from the pics (i think!)

Yeah the wings are the same design as the tail underneath too. Have you managed to do any more at all?  Smiley
