We are about to launch a new file system.

The intention is to modernise the way the files are uploaded and made available to our users.

Here are the main points

Uploading:

New upload system where contributors can select category, enter description into text box, upload up to 2 images per file, upload files, enter location of base files required (optional).

Downloading and Site Structure:

This will largely remain in a similar layout to the existing site - with all categories as they are now.

The 'old site' will remain as is - with a fairly seamless transition to the new pages.

Express Members will log in as usual.

Searching - There will be 2 search areas displayed with search results. As the new pages grow - with only relevant files being displayed for the new area.

File download numbers will be displayed in the description box.

This new system is set to go live very soon, after some final testing.
The new system has been uniquely developed by Paul Atreides and Daniel Parming, 2 very talented programmers.

There may be some teething problems (when isn't there?) but these will be worked on immediately they come to light. Please report any problems.

We hope this will be a great new direction for Simviation. As always it may take a little getting used to but overall there will be the same structure but with a far more efficient system.  Cool

There WILL be some overlap - duplicated files and some on the old system that will not be on the new system initially.
