No, I can't remember what it is called but you speed up and before a certain V speed you can stop but he didn't stop in time and ran off the runway and broke in half...

Thats V2 isnt it?
V1 is 80kt
Rotate
V2 = out of time to backout.... I think its that anyway.
Be interesting to see the report on what caused an aeroplane to just break like that.

It appears to have broken its back after hitting the ground. It would be very serious if this happened in the air. The important thing is to discover what caused the captain to abort the take off. The reports say he heard a "large noise" during take off.
