problem downloading (Read 1404 times)

my problem is that it automaticly starts downloading to open and I cant chose to save it instead
(thank god simvaition lets you use save as before you open it) but alot of other websites do the problem above :bigsad

Which browser are you using? It should be possible to change the file download settings from the Options menu.

Im using internet exploer and this started happing around when my computer tried to download firefox for some strange reason when I was updating Itunes

Also I run windows vista Wink

You haven't disabled the Vista internet security, have you?

The thing where Firefox started to download all by itself should not have happened.

no I have not it was wierd that firefox downloaded all thought as soon as I hit download I notice firefox was on there because I thouh it was for Itunes which updates alot Smiley

Okay, after poking around a bit, here's the solution:

http://www.winhelponline.com/blog/reset-the-always-ask-before-opening-this-type-...

Look for the bit near the bottom that says "RESETTING THE OPTION FOR ALL FILE TYPES"

Apparently, if you do not check ( Or if you unchecked ) the "always ask...", prompt, it's always going to assume you want to open.  Personally, I *never*, *ever*, *not no way at any time*, uncheck that box.  NEVER!  But that's just me. Wink
