She broke up as she took heavy water. Bet those holes in the bow must be huge. I bet the oil, debris and body's must be floating as the cruiser sinks.
...

A few destroyers caught up, kept us a few hours down, we were bombed, evasive and blew out all our countermessures. We made it, surfaced to found a few bombers looking for us. We defended whilst repairs were done.
...

Close back to home, we will be running surfaced tonight.
...

...

100NM miles ofshore, men are relieved, Medals waiting and the jukebox playing us a song as we eat dried fruit and have some malt.
...

The End...

C&C Welcome. Thanx for looking  Wink

Nice series of shots and good background!

Still have some issues with targeting and getting successful hit with my torps. I'm so ridiculously hot and cold when it comes to targeting accuracy. I'm using the easy targeting and still have some accuracy issues.

I did one cruise and ended up with 11 or 12 kills. Then started another and so far have missed alittle more then half my shots. I think I'm gonna have to turn around and head back to port and rearm before I make it out to my patrol area in the China Sea. Sad

When you are hunting for targets do you spend your time patroling surfaced or do you prefer to stay underwater? I find that when surfaced, I pick up contacts farther out and can plan an intercept course and get set up for the shot earlier then if I'm submerged. Naturally, once I pick up a contact and get my intercept planned out I submerge to periscope depth to engage. Just seems like being surfaced makes finding targets alittle easier.

If I had my way I would do it the right way but i don't have 10+ weeks for a patrol and using time compression at ahead full nails battery's in no time.

But again, surfaced is dangerious, especially when you get bombarded by waves and waves of Bombers/Fighters.

So I try and be below after 08h00 AM and be back up at 19H00. The time bombers wont spot me that easilly.

As for targeting, I use manual. I do miss often but getting better at it. It is recommended to attack from the side @ an 45degree angle within 1000 meters.

Its just when you want to hit a cruiser surrounded by 5 destroyers then you have to take your chances at 5000+ meters sometimes.

Kudos to you for using manual. I lack the confidence still. Also, I thought the optimum shot was taken from a 90 degree angle (or as close to 90 degree's as possible)? Do you find a better success rate using something closer to 45?

45 yes, I also found matching the targets speed before settiting up the attack helps in hits.

I always attack from the side.
