FSX or FS9?

http://www.internetnews.com/software/article.php/3743696/No+XP+Service+Pack+3+fo...

Quote:
For those who just can't wait, some download sites around the internet, including FileForum, are offering XP3 for download – possibly obtained through an MSDN or TechNet subscriber.

Microsoft's spokesperson tried to discourage users who may be tempted to go that route.

"Since we cannot confirm the source of every link that third parties provide, our recommendation is that customers wait until we’ve published Windows XP SP3 to Windows Update and the Download Center."

I have to report, that on my laptop (Vista + Vista SP1), I have jumped from 15-ish FPS to 35-ish FPS. I was quite shocked, but am not complaining. FSX has become a new game............as I type, it is installing on my desktop. Have to wait and see what happens. I am hoping that my Nvidia 8600GT with 1024MB on board will make some magic for me. I will let you know.

SP2 is still very good. Extreamly stable and stright forward. I have no need to go SP3.

SP3 is SP2 with all the patches AND some enhancements... infact, SP3 is most likely more stable than SP2. Tongue

OO DAG 8.5 work with SP3 anyone?

drummer?  What creases did you have with XP SP3?

I have noticed that FS FPS tanked, myself.  Went from 25ish to less than 12ish...Very disappointing...

A list of issues fixed by XP SP3

Here you are

I've had it for a while and have not had any problems. I haven't noticed too much of a difference in FS performance, however. But it has been running stable
