If this isn't the proper forum for this  question I apologize in advance.  Just point me towards the proper on if you would.  HuhSmiley

On certain aircraft, when I try to install a panel with side and rear views, the original views remain and it will look as though you can see (for instance) a window with a seat outside the first window.

How can I get rid of the original views so that the new panel will be the only one showing?

I assume this is for FS9. 2D panels with side & rear view windows are intended for aircraft without a virtual cockpit or VC. The VC is part of the visual model, not the 2D panel, & not all 3rd party aircraft have one. This is what you can see superimposed on those side/rear views. It's possible to remove the VC* from most FS aircraft but unless it's really bad it might be better to do away with those extra panel windows instead. This would involve a simple edit to Panel.cfg.

*I've forgotten how this is done now but it's not difficult. I could probably find out if you really want to do it.

Sorry, I should have stated I have fs9.

The problem is that the "outside" windows are pretty large and really interfere with the view.  Also, they are not photoreal and are kind of cheap and tacky looking.  That's why I downloaded  the other panel.

I went into the panel config and tried to manipulate it but I don't think these original views are coming from there.  If I look inside the panel folder I can't see the .bmp files of them like I can with the new panel.

I also looked at the aircraft config file thinking maybe they were in there but didn't find anything that looked like the views in the panel config file.

Yes, I would appreciate it if you or someone could tell me how to get rid of them.

Thanks for answering.

What you're describing is the interior view of the aircraft visual model, the VC I mentioned. This is hard coded into the MDL file. No promises but if you tell me the name of the aircraft & exactly where to download the file I'll check it out for you.

In this  case that may not be possible as this is the 767-300 level-d.  I wanted a panel that had a GPS and Nav/GPS switch and that's why I downloaded a different panel.

Where can I get this 767?

Ah OK. I see it's payware. I would hesitate to mess around with that anyway.

I understand.  I like the way the plane flies and that's why I don't just download another 767 but the panel on it is pretty involved.

Thanks anyhow.

The panel does indeed look very complex. I've just read a couple of reviews of that 767 & they rave over the virtual cockpit. http://www.avsim.com/pages/0505/lvld_767/lds767.html

yeah, it's all based around the FMC.  I've tried to use it but just don't understand well enough to do it justice.  And I like the panel ok except that it doesn't have the gps.

I got it!  There is a separate aircraft configuration program that come with it where you set the number of passengers, total fuel load, etc.  As I searched in it I found a place where I can tell it to load without a virtual cockpit.

Thanks a lot for responding!
