I have 2 friends, one in Florida and one in Minneapolis,  who both have FS2004 and want to join my game in FSX when I Host a game. I do not know what the options are in FS2004 and have never tried it, but I'm wondering if this possible?  I browsed through the forum but did not see a similar query.

Download this and you can play with your friends...but don't fail to read the nice pretty README file if you have never connected via IP address before...

Thanks for the info ....  I haven't tried it yet but did go to the forum to see what the general attitude might be, but there are no posts since Dec 2007. Hmmm .... hope that's not a bad sign.

I appreciate the comeback  Grin

Griz',

FSHost servers have provided a stable environment for FS multiplayer since at least FS2002, maybe earlier.  So don't worry about it's reputation.   Wink

There are hundreds of servers running 24/7. Some are dedicated to special interests, like combat or VA's, but many offer 'free flight' and welcome all pilots. SimV has it's own FSHost server, just visit the Multipayer forum for info.  To see the active FSHost public servers available at any time use FSHostSpy

Check the 'stickys' in the SimV-Multiplayer forum for help with setting up your computers firewall or router to work properly in FS multiplayer and FS Host.

Once set up, your friends (FS2004) can connect to an FSHost server using their FS Multiplayer client. You (FSX) need the FSHostClient that Wii pointed you to.

For voice communication, most use the Teamspeak 2 Client. Most FSHost server sites (SimV included) also provide a Teamspeak server for it's users.

Thanks Dave,
I appreciate the reassurance and this may be the answer for my cheap friends!  Grin Grin .... and if I might add, a new experience for me.  Smiley

Unfortunately few on the SimV server USE Teamspeak.... it is mainly chat box time.  If there was more use of TS.... I'd fly there more.
