my GF works @ for the Sheriff and they are upgrading the patrol cars and are getting rid of all the motorola mobile stations??? I know they are 12 volt but thats easy to get around, anyone have any luck with these?

they seem pretty sweet they are touch screen and have buttons down both sides and a speaker 7" lcd

I will try to get some more specs. but I think I could get my hands on a few dozen of these.

can you say touchbuddy?

P4 duo 3.4,  4 gb ram dual geforce 5200's running a projector, 3 monitors, a simpit with Ch Throttle Quad, pedals, yoke, a hacked up and extended force feedback, a real Garmin 396 using gpsout, freetrack head tracking, a  F-16 seat, and yes the seat cushion can be used as a floatation device......really!&&&&...

I got a hold of some ramline 210's which were used at home cheapo for some reason or another. I was able to load XP and use the touchscreen with touchbuddy. It works great Smiley

Im not sure what the spec are on those touchscreens but it seems like a good idea

i go by the belief that whatever free swag comes your way, should be taken without questioning or hesitating, and only later should you worry about how it could be implemented

I think it depends on how the screen itself responds.

If it treats presses as mouse presses and not as something else, then you could click things in the cockpit using your fingers or move controls with your hand.

I have never used toch screens, but what comes to my mind is as was saod before just to take them and figure out next. If I get them I wouldn't hesitate to replace my crt screens that I use for my glass cockpit. The other option I see is to use one of them as CDU. This saves you from the complications of building one. I am not sure about this but, there is an option (setting in one of the .ini files) that you can use touch screen for Wide FS to do different things.
Thank you, ermias
