I would be grateful for any help and apologise if this has been discussed before..........

I have recently acquired FS repaint v2 (by Abacus) and was under the impression that you could use the stock FSX aircraft as templates to produce new personal repaints.  Following installation, the list of FSX aircraft and variations plus add-on aircraft is visible in the "directory tree" within FS Repaint.  However, I am unable to open them up to view the textures or make any alterations.  I CAN make copies and save them as new versions, however these are also "unopenable".

FS repaint comes with a Twin Otter installation.  In the directory tree, this is visible in just the same way as the other aircraft but this is the only aircraft I can actually open up for editing.  I am wondering if the default FSX aircraft are encrypted in some way although the FS Repaint tutorial is supposed to take you through a repaint of the default FSX Cessna Grand Caravan (if only I could open it!).  If the default aircraft are indeed encrypted, does anyone know where I can download some repaintable models?

I appreciate any help you can give me and, in return, I hope to upload some repaints into the downloads pages!!

CUrious - I was a beta tester for FS REapint2 and didn't have problems opening the default aircraft.

I just tried it again and can't open the default a/c now (Boeing 747) .  DO you have SP2 installed?

Update - I've contacted Abacus in this, confirming that I also have the problem now.  It's not limited to the default aircraft, but also to some of my own models in FS-X.  IT's not happening to them, so let's see what comes up ..

As this is turning more into a payware program issue, rather than a simple "texturing"  issue, I'm moving it to the PayWare Section...

Stay tuned

For anyone having this same problem (your registered copy of FS Repaint V2 doesn't open the default FS-X aircraft), write to Abacus and request the latest release (v.2.09).

Thanks for all the helpful suggestions guys.  Apologies for being offline for a while.  Anyway, i have contacted Abacus and they sent me a new ".exe" file which I copied over the old one.  It seems to have done the trick.
