Hey, I just finished my first real repaint in Flight Sim.  Should I upload it? It is a texture for the FSX Default Cessna 172.  The silver paint is somewhat reflective. I worked with the alpha and specular textures to get the effect.

...

...

This following was my inspiration for the repaint. It's not an exact replica of the paint, but it is close. I was doing it from memory at the time.
...

If you guys show some interest, I'll put together the files and make a readme and upload it. I hope you like it.

Even though I can't use it because I'm with FS9, it looks excellent! I think you should upload it!  Smiley

Well I've gone ahead and uploaded it, but it isn't up on the site yet. I've had experience with repainting cars for racing sims before, but this is my first attempt at an airplane for flight sim.  I used photoshop CS2 with the nvidia .dds plugin.  Therefore I didn't have to go through any dxtbmp.exe or anything like that.  I'll post a link to the file when it shows up on the downloads page.

Most definitely, I love flying 172s', especially with repaints. I'll watch out for this one.

I have made a version for FS2004. I don't know if it actually works in FS2004 or not though because I only have X. If anyone would like to test it out for me I can send you a file in an email. Just let me know.
