I was at Heathrow to pick someone up, and was lucky enough to see a A380 take off.. took some very poor shots i'm afraid, but was really happy to have seen the bird finally! was real quiet on the take off compared to the 747's and what a big tail!!
sorry for the rubbish shots

Don't worry, seeing as I'm not a fan of the A380 I can only say the shots were fine - could've done with a few more trees, but otherwise fine.

That's your opinion Steven, but it serves a purpose.. Just what it was built and designed for.
Maybe they'll build one with afterburners, missiles and guns... just for you.

It's nothing to do with it being civilian I just think it's a really ugly machine. Some airliners like the 747 aren't attractive but they aren't particularly ugly whilst that thing looks like humpback whale. There are plenty of horrible military machines out there too!

agree its not the prettiest of beasts, but its certainly an impressive piece of kit! can't wait to see one in real life! thanks for sharing!
it seems to have a lot of flap down in the final shot? is that normal for the A380 on takeoff?

An optical illusion - it's one I've noticed a lot more nowadays seeing a lot of larger types.
