Anyone know what that shiny metal on the leading edge is for ?

It's chrome, used to prevent "dings" in the leading edge from FOD.

The black areas are anti-ice heating areas, of course.  Grin

Hmmm.. That might be an extra benefit, but that's not it. You're close, though..  Smiley

She will beat all the rest of the copilot done before ,I just finish mapping her AS A FIRST DUTY at the beginning because believe it or Not is the most tedious and hideous job of all.. She came with many animation surprises , Look in the second shot her legs she's moving the rudder ,and other things  Lips Sealed will be a surprise  Grin

Nothing is being map yet, Ok?  this is like the first shot of this thread ,still too much to walk

The black areas are de-icing boots that inflate to break the ice off, the shiny chrome is a heated leading edge, a lot more aerodynamic than a boot.

That's close enough   Smiley

It's not about aerodynamics, though... You hit the key words, "de-icing boots that inflate to break the ice off"..  That's how boots work. You have actually let ice form, and then inflate them to break it off. If you inflate them too early; the ice forms around them while inflated, and then of course, it can't be broken off.  Heating elements would be ideal, but they're heavy and consume huge amounts of power, and aren't aluminum friendly.

Take a close look at what's right behind the stainless steal, heated leading edge....  If those were boots; the ice that they'd break off, would go straight into the ENGINE   Shocked   The heat keeps ice from forming at all..

Indeed one of the most difficult VC I ever done ,there are many hiden details ,Like for example the elevator wheel has an indicator (like the real life model) that indicates the position , and many many things ,few meters to finish it..

Before you said something ,I would like to say , I attach to real life aircraft , the most difficult part of all is presisly the VC because you can't do like the exterior part in which you can put any color and shape sometime diferent than the real life models ..

The Inside , the VC its the hardest part ,because I invite you to take a look some of the freeware models out there , see from a pilot perspective ,I was looking some of the freeware ones Wich BTW was made using FS9-SDK like most of them and claiming that Is a FSX aircraft and is far away from it the textures and the realism can't never be compare with FSX new format ,I saw a Challenger Bombardie 604 and It has a beutiful decoration and furniture in the inside ,Beutiful..

But what about the important thing , Do we fly with decoration? This plane has an Airbus VC in all aspect ,I'm putting this as example just one , You know My models ,my freewares were made with soo much efford Imitating the most I could the real ones ,like the last 727 which gave more trouble ,issues among members of this site than satisfactions
..
Whats the Deal when you fly a plane wich it doesn't have anything that look and SOUND like the real Bombardier ..

I made its decoration too , But anyway No one cares about the effort Unless No matter How good or how Bad  it is ,Its only special when is a Payware and Ive seen some paywares that just make me laugh Mediocre ...

Wow!  Shocked That's one of the best thing I ever heard ,Coming from a great designer , Of course you got it J.C. ,I saw that Jet Truck you just made ,all we got to do is keep struggling ,searching I N V E S T I G A T E  is the key,..ask ask ask, J.C.

, To get all the info about the FSX-sdk wasn't that easy as it looks ,and the most difficult part is the installing and succesfully get a *.xanim and *.X ,That was hard for me , I learn everything in FFDS and believe me ,some people rather stay quiet ,because from now few things are like a secret due that was hard for them to find out these thing ,and I understand them..

Come on Kat I don't even speak English as you do and Im 43 my mind is not that faster than it used to, your very young   !

1Download the latest Direct9 runtimes
2your sys must be in english american for the period for decimals Not comas
3install Frameworks 3.5

You must know How and where to place the FSX gmax,  right?

all this is quite long try to do this thing and the export a box ,to mdl in gmax ,See if the mdl has size ,or do something more complicated like a box and a spere ... check if they have a size..

If they give you errors ..READ what it saids and bring back to me..okay?

EDIT: I forgot Do not pay too much attention to the reading material of the SDK is a B****S******* most of the things it says are not according to the real...
