Its always a matter of opinon. Its really not that important to me. If you do not like CFS3 graphics do not fly in it. I personaly like the different graphics and feeling that they give me. I believe in diversity and in having different experience. In my opinion they are both fine Sims.
You fly in the Sim that gives you the most satifying experience!
The reason I like CFS2 so much is that you can fly all the the World and in particular all over the Pacific some thing that most Sims cannot Offer. CFS3 does have a Pacific addon but its a bit limited in comparison. I"am a World war two Simmer and do not like to be limited to any one Theater.
But CFS3 is a fine Sim.

I totally agree with James007 about flying all over the world. Many real life challenges can be simulated. I have found that csf2 is quite true to the real world as far as magnetic variances and such. You can plan a long flight just like the real thing, with a national geo map and protractor, and a scale. Figure heading (adjust for mag variance) and distance and you will get there if you've done it right. Don't use the navigation window at all. With say the European land detail upgrades you will find your way from a base in eastern England to the Dutch coast then maybe down the river to Hamburg and back just with compass and clock, as it was really done. Hey, was there ever a land detail upgrade for the US for csf2?? (I didn't know csf3 was limited but now I'm glad I didn't get it.)
My experience was that the Russian IL2 family of games had the best graphics by far but at the price of very limited add ons and limited maps. And it took a big computer to push all that detail.
