Everyone comments on my sky colors. There is nothing special about how I do it. First of all, I have FEX. To start, I just select my season, then click on Dusk. Now I back up about 20 to 30 min from where that puts me. That gives me this sky.
Now the clouds. I like a 4000 to 5000 ft thick layer of Cirrus at around 40,000 ft. I usually set it to "overcast". That gives me this..
Then I have a layer of Status about 4000 ft thick below that at about 4/8 coverage. Gives you this.
Then for a dramatic look, just add some broken Cumulus below that.
That is all I do. No big secret to it.

Very cool tut Duke! I'll have to get FEX sometime. What with the high res textures and such coming out, then get REX.

Ahhhh...so that's how you do it. I thought you messed with the texture file or something to get the mix of colors. Very creative though.

You don't have to mess with anything accept the cloud layers and time of day. Of course, changing the angle changes the colors too. In the images above, I was looking west. If you look east, you get more of a violet or purple color.
