Interesting race to say the least. What was Kimi playing at???
Amongst other things, but three laps of fuel left thanks to the safety car, but going for the overtake, pointless or..........
Also, Coulthard and Massa, racing incident, or was Massa a bit optimistic. He had the inside right on the grass, does that still mean he had the corner?
Matt
PS Maybe as an addition to the driver placings, we should add how many finishers there will be

Even if he'd made it stick the engine had other ideas...
I enjoyed the race, shame about Bourdais' engine near the end, he'd done well up until then. And Kovy was unlucky with the safety car.
Coulthard was to blame for his incident with Massa, Felipe had every right to try the pass IMO.

Kovy was really unlucky, but that is racing and Kimi, yes the engine did have other ideas. Two Ferrari engine failures in one race, not see that in a long, long time.
It will be nice to see how BMW do next race too.
Matt
PS, Just seen the Coul/Mass replay, Massa is trying to overtake on the grass.

If that's the case then DC has every right to feel aggrieved... I saw it as it happened and commented as above. I'll take a look at the replays when I get home from work

What happened to Kimi in the end?, depending on what site you visit, he either had engine failure or ran out of fuel going to the pits for a splash and dash???

Kimi's engine was running on 6 cylinders at best, i've never heard an engine sound that deep and rough
I think he was having a brain fart day. The Ferrari engines are so tightly run on heating as they have the smallest amount of cooling as it is, and run alongside the high temps of australia it was bound to happen. Shame really as the car had the speed as was evident by how quick he caught glock, and how quickly he dropped rubens.
I cant fault lewis, the safety car always seems to help the guy, poor heikki, one lap later or pitting one lap sooner and he would have been in a very good position for the win. Bourdais, unluckiest man of the race, Nico, did the best job getting that williams on the podium was a thing of beauty.
Here's to next week when we'll really see how good the cars are.
edit***
Heikki, hit the pit lane button which allowed alonso to pass him on that last lap or so. Silly boy.
Massa's pass was legit, he started it properly was alongside properly and as usual DC squeezed a driver onto the grass. Maybe its the shape of his jaw blocking his vision.
And as much as I like to see rubens do well, he should be DQ'd as he left the pits with the red light showing. Last year Massa and Fisi were disqualified from Montreal for that.

Sorry just reading some more. I see that both ferrari's were engine failures, add in Bourdais who's car has a ferrari engine and you've got three right there. quite worrying.
Barrichello was dq'd giving Kimi the 1 point. Which could be crucial for the end of the season. However I'm not too worried as ferrari had 3 DNF's from rubens to start 2002, and look what happend there.
I'd like to see Nakajimi seriously shoved to the back of the grid, every race. He seemed to cause the accident at the start with a hard braking manuever, thn a couple of other incidents later on including taking Kubica out of the race. I do hope we wont have another Yuji Ide on our hands.
