Didn't mean to turn this into A.net but this plane is phenominal!

Gulfstream has launched the G650, a clean-sheet aircraft the US company calls the biggest, fastest and furthest-flying purpose-designed business jet yet.

Joining Gulfstream’s product line-up above the G550, which will continue in production, the G650 offers a 7,000nm (13,000km) range at Mach 0.85, a maximum cruise speed of M0.925 and the largest cabin in its class, the company says.

WOW! Anyone want to buy me one of those!? 33% queter than the BR710. If you've ever been on a 717 you'll know how realise how quiet the BR71x engines are... but 33% QUIETER. WOW! The windows will be 28 inches wide. That is just huge. It΄s over 2 feet. Plane itself is as large as a DC9.  Roll Eyes

Too bad Gulfstream does not produce airliners, they could show Airbus and Boeing a little on how do design beautiful aircraft.

Well, this is how Canadair started! They designed Canadair Challenger big business jet first - only then did they start with the CRJ derivative!

But the cabin is not yet as wide as that of DC9...

Reading the article, I have to admit I was surprised by both the speed and the range they hope to have.  If it really performs up to specification, that is going to be one remarkable aircraft.  I really look forward to seeing actual production interiors, too.  I am all over fascinated by the interiors of the smaller business class jets, as to me that really says something about the fusion of leading technology and high-class swankiness (something like the 3D tour Cessna offers for the Citations would be great to see).  Well, this is certainly going to be an aircraft to look forward to!

Very interested,
Darrin
