Can some please advise a good payware aircraft? I am so tired of all the "payware" planes that are just awful!!! they charge us money for imperfect planes either cockpit buttons don't work, the are all smashed in, etc. The worst is when theplane won't even handle properly. I mean didn't they at least test the planes in fsx and notice that it doesn't handle properly or the cockpit looks like S$#% before they started charging people money for them!!! I swear it's all about the dollar what ever happened to putting out a descent product???

thank you for letting me rant, if anyone knows of any DESCENT addon FSX aircraft, could you please let me know.

Hmm, maybe the problem you're running into, like me is buying a supposedly 'FSX compatible Aircraft', only to find out that it isn't... Embarrassed

I just brought Flying Club X... and its OK, some pieces are nice...but others are crap. The models, especially the VC's, look just like the FS9 ones ... i would have hoped for more!

If you want quality look at PMDG...! Always loved there stuff. Also, there are loads of reviews/screenshots around, so google before you buy to avoid major disappoinments.

I bought the LevelD 767 http://www.leveldsim.com/, and it is spot on in many cases. There are a few really advanced things not modeled, but everything the pilot normally interacts with is there.

The PMDG 747 is supposed to be superb as well http://www.precisionmanuals.com/priv/pages/prod/fsx/744x.html. I don't personally own it, but it seems to have a very loyal following.

I had downloaded the freeware iFly 747 http://www.simviation.com/fsxjets19.html, though haven't gotten the chance to really play with it. I did take a look at the FMC and was very impressed to be able to access the CMC (Central Maintenance Computer) pages and some of the advanced engine snapshot functionality. I don't think it's totally functional, but the pages are there. With that level of detail implemented, I'd assume the rest of the aircraft is pretty accurate.

I love the CLS DC-10.  It works beautifully with FSX Acceleration/SP2; lots of liveries and a really nice VC.  The only problem is that it's not compatible with the DX10 preview, so if you're using the preview you must disable it while using the DC-10.

You can read about it and purchase if you want at:

The IRIS PC-9 is well worth the money, and is an absolute joy to fly

The aerosoft DA-20 Katana is great if you're into very small, light GA aircraft!!!

Although, I don't yet know how to fix the grey patch with acceleration in the VC

Level-D and PMDG are THE shiz if you're into jets. I've got there 747, waiting for there MD-11; my favourite plane. I check the PMDG site atleast 4 times a day for any updates or forum posts.  Roll Eyes On the 19th of Febuary one of the PMDG boys said they're still in ALPHA. May still be a few months yet. Sad HURRY UP!

Tongue

Be warned that PMDG for fsx is VERY hard on the frames. MY Q6600 / 8800GT rig runs it well... but down low you need to use 2d cockpit unless you like 14fps. Smiley

Both my payware aircraft have issues, but really are minor, and easily ignored or worked around.

1 Flight 1 Software`s Mig15, tricky to fly at times (like the real thing?)

2 Alpha Sim`s Sea Venom, (one or two of the switches in the VC appear not to function) Very stable on the approach by the way.

I have Level-D. I love how you can interact with the flight attendant in the cabin Smiley. It's a frame-rate hitter, so I am updating my video card so I can actually fly it.

PMDG is supposed to be the best. However, I don't have the courage to spend $80 for an airplane yet. Grin
