It would be probably be a good idea but it does require a lot of organisation.

Take my most recent show for example....

..as has Jake said...

It has to be organised professionally.... Smiley....

....or not at all!... Embarrassed...!

Paul...G-BPLF... Cool...!

If you are really keen, you could PM a couple of your Mates, and organise your own Flights in Multiplayer....
..as long as they don't clash with the regular Week-End Multiplayer Tours/Air Shows.
Or HOST your own flights with your Mates, using your own IP Address?

Have you been to a good virtual airshow before?  If not, you really should before trying to put one together yourself.  There are two coming up within a month, one on here and one on AirshowBuzz.

Not trying to be insulting, but I have seen people talk a big game about making the best virtual airshow ever only to find out they haven't been to one!  If you know how to do it though, go for it!

You know,.....I've never attended an online airshow.  But sure would like to.

Just sit on the ground, watch, listen and enjoy. [It's be great if FS had a 'padlock' view like in combat sims to just pick a pilot or pilots and follow him/her around].

Can you please tell me the protocol for a visitor ?  I don't want to embarress myself.

Will I be given a place to park, Teamspeak, meet on FSHost ?  Anything that would get a 'first timer' comfortable and happy.

Many thanks,

KC

The rules for most of them are pretty much the same.  There will be a certain aircraft that all spectators are supposed to be in (paper plane for SimV shows, PA Dude for AirshowBuzz ones).  You'll want to sit in the designated crowd area and be sure to turn your engine off.  Then just sit back and watch, probably using virtual cockpit view and panning to follow the performer.  Some acts have music and narration that will be played on Teamspeak, so most of the chatting is done in the text box.

Don't change your aircraft during the show as it will lag everyone and can really screw up acts.

Come join us sometime, more people is always better!

Ryan,

Sounds easy enough.

Where are these these 'paper planes' found at ? and the PA Dude? Did a search here at SimV first before asking. Will the default Cessna 172 do ?  Not that I mind downloading an airplane for an airshow.

And no, I won't budge an inch; and I'll turn my mic-mute button on for Teamspeak.

I presume we'll be given an 'enter' order for the show.

Forgive me for all these simple questions,..first time you know.

Btw, one day I was waiting for my brother to come on the SimV FSHost  and was scrolling thru online players [in my connected MP flight screen at a Virginia airport] already there, and accidently hit the 'follow player' key combination and beamed from Virginia to Austria into Frozzer. Hope I didn't scare the heck out of the crowd there.  You never saw a person shut down FS9 so fast  Embarrassed

Anyway, be patient with me.

I look forward to joining you folks.

Thanks,

KC

Haha, no worries.  It's all in the name of fun anyways.

There will be a link to the required spectator aircraft in the particular show thread.  You'll have to download a whole bunch of planes for an airshow if you want to see them correctly.  Here at SimV they post a link to each aircraft flying so you can download what you don't have.  Over at Airshowbuzz we collect all the planes that will flown in the show and make one big .zip file for people to download.  Much more efficient we think.

There isn't really an 'enter' order, just a time that the show starts.  It's best to join up a few minutes before but really no big deal.  Like I said, the whole point is fun so if you do something 'wrong', oh well.

Arghhh!  Din't think of that! Be like watching an acrobatic/aerobatic all Cessna 172 show.  Hmmm,...that may not be so bad... Wink

Am ready for a big zip anytime.. Shocked Grin
