More pop culture from my childhood...
Remember Super-Ball? These things seemed to gain more enrgy with each bounce; amazing. At one point, Wham-O was making all kinds of stuff out of this super-rubber, including dice and baseballs.
A very cool promo: dozens of Super Balls dumped out of a chopper, over a suburban cul-de-sac. The effect was hard to capture on film, but it must have been awesome!!
And of course there was GI Joe: remember; it's
not a doll!
My older brother had one of these early Joes; I destroyed it. He kicked my ass for that, but then again he womped me almost every day,, anyway.
That's what we did with them; you'd spend all day building an elaborate fort, then bomb it with rocks. Or we'd toss them off cliffs and note their death postures. Anybody who "played" with Joe, making him walk and talk, was considered "queer".
This stuff is worth a lot of money today... especially in the original packaging. Between my GI Joe stuff and my Hot Wheels, I could've retired... but Mom tossed them, along with my comic books, back in the 70s.
I can't remember what this is called... and a bit before my time. But man, they sure knew how to make a fake gun back then... this one has
everything!!
And it came with this "wicked" comm helmet and hand receiver...
