I rented a DVD recently with nothing but commercials from the early 60s to the mid-70s... mostly for kids' products.
Even those who don't remember these might enjoy this... some of you won't believe how crude the toys of that era were! Grin

Okay-  first, to get in the mood, have yourself a big bowl of cereal, loaded with real cane sugar!! Once you have the sugar-junky shivers, it's time to enjoy our little trip into the past...

...

All the toys advertised in this part are still around...

Slinky was more proof that the pinnacle of American culture and design was in the 1960s... I mean, who doesn't love Slinky? Grin

...

Yes, the first time I saw Slinky was on a B&W TV... lord, I'm old...

...

And Silly Putty! 50 years now, and it's still cool.

...

Etch-a Sketch, as it appeared back in the day.

...

I'd actually forgotten that originally, Mr. and Mrs. Potato head did not come with a fake potato- you were supposed to use real potatoes, or any fruit or vegetable... or perhaps a dog turd. Grin

...

And way back when, Barbie could be had for $3... er, that is... Embarrassed

...

Next: part 2!
