I might have to give Vista another chance I didnt really think the results would be as close as they are. Seems more and more poeple are making the change to Vista.

I don't use the multiplayer option on games nor FSX but what I can say is that I never have problems with Vista.

It is rather frustrating when it comes to adimistration rights, for example editing .cfg files. I always have to move it to my desktop to be able to make changes.

Other then that, Vista is fine.

Just my 2 cents.

vista can be so anoying sometimes, but there are great benefits to gaming with it now and there are more to come for the future.

by the way thats my personal opinion so n one take offence, i dont wanna start an argument on the whole "vista sucks" thing.

We won't start anything. This is just a friendly, educated conversation comparing 2 OSs.

Well the reason I want to buy Vista right now is the future and advantages in software. XP I know will be great as I have used it but it won't develop into something bigger in the not so distant future. SP3 for XP might be the last one and Vista is just starting its Service packs.

Ugh YES! Hopefully SP1 will fix that.
In my opinion, a1, you should get Vista Home Premium 64-bit and boot XP on another drive. If you want a high end system, you need a high end OS that will recognize all the hardware and use it all correctly...from what I have heard, XP is not good with more than a gig or two of ram...

XP 32bit can use upto 3.5GB of RAM. With 2GB of RAM plus a 512MB videocard XP will use all of it. It's just when you have 4GB of RAM, it won't use it all.

Now I very highly suggest getting Vista because SP1 has changed and improved a ton of things.

Latest Operating System?
Latest Graphics Drivers?

Having about 10,000* "0ld Games" which I play regularly, and just 3 "New Games" which I rarely play, I find that I am constantly rolling BACK to older operating systems, and older graphics drivers, to get my games to work correctly, so for me "Newer is definitely not Better!"...Wink...!

Just installed a nice 2002 Game...now I need to install earlier nVidia Graphics drivers to correct various graphics display faults... Cry...!
(I often have to roll back to Windows '98SE!)

Paul...A Veteran Games Player... Cool...!

* ...probably...Wink...!

PC World are super expensive Paul, you can pick up an OEM version of Vista on the net for around £60.00  Cool

Still a lot of dough but a lot less than £220....
