Well, there's $50.00 I'll never get back.
Not that it was a bad game, mind you. In fact, quite the opposite. Graphics were INCREDIBILE, game play was totally immersive, and the story line was most excellent, although seeing Griggs get it in the end sucked. Capt. Price may have yet lived (they were giving him CPR), and I never saw what happened to Gaz.
But it was WAY short. IMHO, it could have been twice as long and still made me happy...

Got some bad news for you mate
Cpt. Price dies (look for Ultranationalist punch his chest in frustration after failing to revive him when you are turning your head)
And Gaz....well, when Zakhaev (spelling?) walks over to you and him and his guys executes the 3 soldiers infront of you, the one that Zakhaev shoots is Gaz.
I agree with you on the length of the single player though, but like you said, it's still excellent

Yeah Gaz got the Desert Eagle to the head via Zakahev.
In the end a Loyalist Spetznaz was giving Price CPR and then went on to an extreme form of it. I like to think he lived.
Yeah it was too short but that is where the Online (be it PS3, 360 or PC) comes in.

Yeah, I guess they decided to save something for COD 5... I think they designed the game to take the place of Counterstrike, and added the single player as an afterthought.
Shame about Gaz; I think Price lived also, he'll be back. I got REALLY P/O'ed when Jackson got it from the Nuke....

And CoD 6 is back to Modern Warfare
Crazy, I know ,but true.
The creators of CoD3 (Treyarch) are making CoD 5, which is supposedly WWII pacific theater.
The creators of Cod 4 (Infinity Ward) are working on CoD 6, which will be modern warfare again. CoD 5 is due out in may sometime and CoD 6 is the end of 2008.
I agree that the CoD4 campaign is a bit short, but the online play makes up for that

Could you guys put a spoiler alert or something before you post something like this? Seeing as I'm about half-way through the game myself, this took a bit out of it.

cpt price has been in every CoD PC game he will never die. same moustache and everything!
and finaly some one who agrees with me, an entire game that you can complete in 6-8 hours is not 100% worth the money, things like HL2 EP2 are differant, its ment to be short additions to an ongoing story
CoD4 though is a standalone game and i would expect at least 15hours of play time

Boy, if I knew what everything I was about to read said before I actually read it, It'd be a miracle. I could just look at the newspaper and know everything that was happening.
I'm just saying there should be something in the title that warns people about potential spoilers. Not to mention, this is in the wrong forum...

Yeah, I usually do that, but I forgot this time. Sorry about that...
I must say, my favorite weapon out of the whole bunch is the Dragunov (sic?) sniper rifle. It's especially nice when the bad guys come running around the corner and you can just pick them off four or five in a row. Failing that, give me a shotgun any day...
It also would have been nice to play from the bad guys side...

I can't stand the Dragunov. I'll take the R700 or the M82 any day. Or the MP44 or G36. Failsafe is the Golden Desert Eagle.

Those "killing games" disturb me. I much prefer the peace and quiet of the skies.
My system: AMD Phenom 9500 cpu, 2 x eVGA e-GeForce 8800GTS Superclocked vidcards (640Mb DDR3 each), Zalman "sunflower" 9700 fan, Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4 mobo, 4Gb G.Skill PC2-6400 DDR2 800Mhz RAM, 2 x Sony 20X DVD writers, Thermaltake Toughpower 850W modular p/s, 7 x 120mm fans, Windows XP Home and SP3, 2 x 250Gb Western Digital SATA-300 HDs (1 for apps, 1 for storage and precious files backup), CoolerMaster CM 690 case, NOD-32. Won't run FSX. Locks up a lot with FS9, too.

The ending was brilliant... I think the way that it all comes together is really cool. Definately a deep sense of atmosphere when Price bites it and then a bit of a smirk when it cleverly comes up as a bit of conspiracy on the news.
Great game... Not really much to get tired of on it. Grabbing the last few achievements on it now (few more levels and the intels)
