Still at Poeke castle, there's a small winding stair going down under the main bridge... I just had to check it out...
Later I drove into the countryside... If someone asks me how the area is like, this picture should tell it all. It's a rural place, lots of farmers, small roads, griend meadows and signs of the catholic past of the area in the form of little shrines...
... and windmills! We have plenty of those around. This one is standing on top of a small hill overviewing the area. The Poelberg mill was founded in the 18th century and restored to working condition... Lovely...

The main building dates back to 1597, but it's been restored many times. The last big change was made in the 19th century... so somewhere in between those dates...
