The weather cleared up today, so I just had to go out with my camera...
I decided to head out into the countryside, to show you guys something of my daily surroundings. At just 2,5 miles from where I live stands Poeke Castle, founded around 1597 - 1600, build, rebuild and restored to become this amazing baroque castle, painted in a soft pink colour and surrounded by water.
My lens showing it's strenghts at higher apperatures.
One more post to follow.
Cheers,
Omag

Nice work Kris......but..........
Don't you just wish for a "shift lens" so you could stop the vertical sides of architecture from falling in as they rise to the top of the captured image.........I never had one, but always longed for one when I shot these kind of structures..........
This wasn't meant to be critical, .......I think you have a fine eye......
This is the effect Im talking about......They have lenses which have moveable front elements to allow this to be done in camera......

Yep, that's the problem with wide angles. I'm still experimenting with it, so next time I'll take a few steps more away from the building, so I can zoom in a little. That should take care of things...
How did you change my shot? What program?

You can do that in Photoshop Elements Kris.
Filter/Correct Camera Distortion
PS. Depends on the shot but I sometimes prefer the perspective effect.

Although I use Photoshop CS, I believe it should be possible to get this in Elements.
Doug is basically correct here Kris, but I didn't use any filter on the manip. What I did was pull a selection around the area I wanted to affect. I then right clicked to bring up the " Selection Menu" and chose "Free Transform". That will bring you to where I have shown my image. A right click on here gets you the menu I have displayed (This is the Free Transform Menu). Using the " Distort " function, you can pull any of the small boxes (corners and mid-point on vertical and horizontal lines) to do what you want. I pulled the top corners outwards to correct the vertical lines at the edge of the building, and then pulled the middle top one to cover the exposed blank background which had opened in the sky. To get the grid on screen for reference, you need to hit " ctrl " and " ' " together.......that command is a toggle too, so you do the same, to get the grid off.....
Hope this helps a bit........

Adjust the Vertical Perspective slider as necessary.

That's great Doug....I never knew that. Can you take a selection area and still do the same thing ?....just in case you don't want to affect the entire image while you do it ?......Sometimes certain areas don't need as much visually as others ?
It sure looks like they have made things easy with those sliders....

Is there any allowance for being off center or will this be a problem where the needed "fix" is off to the side - I had to pull more correction on the left side of the image than the right side.......
oops : Sorry Kris, for hi-jacking your thread...

There's no selection tool on the toolbar so I would say no. I haven't had the software long (free trial) & only just started playing with it. Note the other options on the menu which give you almost unlimited possibilities.

Don't worry Ken, it's meant to learn us all something...
BTW, I don't seem to have the camera distortion filter in PS elements 4.0...
