On the 'Aircraft Design Home Page' I was on 'Designing your own aircraft' to find a programe to make an aircraft add-on for Flight Simulator X. When I looked there Most of the programs wern't for Flight Simulator X and outhers didn't clearly say which flight simulators they were for.

Does anyone know which programs you can use for making aircraft add-ons for flight simulator X?

The two free ones I really know about are FSDS and GMax. Gmax is tough to learn, but has good rewards. FSDS is easier to learn, but doesn't have the power Gmax does. Btw, Gmax is free, FSDS is $50...

Thanks for the help, I think i'll start with Gmax but it says that it can only be used on Flight Simulator 2002 Professional Edition & is used for FS2004, FS2002 & CFS3 aircraft. It doesn't say anything about Flight Simulator X. Will it still work on Flight Simulator X?

As long as you have all the right plugins. I don't know them (FSDS user Cool), but there are a lot of Gmax users on SimV so you shouldn't have to look long.

If you have FSX Deluxe, you already have the Gmax plugins needed (in the SDK), and they give you access to the SDK SP1...

...which should then be immediately updated to SDK SP1a (available from http://fsinsider.com) at a minimum to correct some errors in the original SDK.

See this FS Developer Wiki for detailed information

The initial SDK (required) is in your FSX DVD, and is a separate install.

You download the latest SDK from the Micosoft site - fsinsider.com and click to the downloads section.  Again, note that in order to install ANY of the SDK updates, you need to have installed the original SDK from the DVD first.

LOL

You can always use the FS9-SDK its easier ,is almost the same ,you would find tutorials everywhere, and it works perfect in FSX ,

Perhaps 90% of all the available freeware add-ons in this moment are made using FS2004 (FS9) SDK..
