Yep, we really didnt think that FS2004 would support these lights however with some random fiddling, all of a sudden bam we found a way to program them so they show and look great.  Cheesy

There is one major disadvantage though. As soon as you retract the landing gear on an aircraft equipped with a landing light in its front gear (which almost all commercial airliners have: 717, 727, 737, 747, 757, 767, 777, 787 or A318, A319, A32X, A330, A340, A380 etc.), the lights go off and its impossible to turn them on again. I find this very annoying as it takes away some realism; landing light are not to be switched off before 10.000ft.
Will there be a patch available who will fix this?

 Ijineda, I only "fly" low & slow, but sometimes I'll "fly" the V 35 which has retractable gear. Are you saying that all of lights go out and can not be turned back on, or are you saying that you just can not get the gear light to turn back on? Thanx.

It only happens when the landing light is attached to the retractable part of the gear. it´s not all the lights that go off, just the landing light; strobes, navs and beacons remain on.

Unfortunatly this is the best we could do with the way MSFS works. Otherwise you end up with a floating gear light which is even more unrealistic.

However I believe with some tweaking you can get back to the floating light if you so wish.

I tried to solve the problem by deleting the [lights] entrys for the nose gear, for the default FS9 734 it then looks like this:

light.8 = 5, 6.54, 7.25, -2.20, fx_Shockwave_landing_light_narrow ,
light.9 = 5, 6.50, -7.25, -2.20, fx_Shockwave_landing_light_narrow ,
//light.10 = 5, 43.05, 0, -4.74, fx_shockwave_landing_light_double ,
//light.11 = 5,  36, 0, -18, fx_shockwave_landing_light_light ,
//light.12 = 5, -14.21, 30.33, -0.5, fx_Shockwave_landing_light_narrow_down ,
//light.13 = 5, -14.21, -30.33, -0.5, fx_Shockwave_landing_light_narrow_down ,

So the gear landing light is gone, but it still switches off all remaining landing lights when I retract the gear. Surprisingly, this is not the case with AI-aircraft of which I removed the [lights] entry for their front gear (EVAI A320 for example); they stay on until 10.000 ft. Could you explain to me why?

Edit: Ok, got it by myself. I needed to change the [VCockpit01]:
//gauge25=shockwave_lights!SW Lights_gear,  1,1,1,1

Its a compromise, but better than the default I think.
