Vista 64-bit ?  And if so, where do you think data-speed problems would be caused ?  Hardware ? Drivers ?  Surely a brand new, 64-bit O/S itself isn't going to slow down data transfers.. if all its hardware and software are on the same page.

Let's see if Nick follows this post...  get his input. Smiley

32 and 64 bit. Vista is well known for these two bugs. Latest updates, drivers and disabling things like firewall, uac, defender, system restore etc (also something called remote differential something)

I also don't like the removal of EAX support in Windows Vista, you need to use Creative Alchemy. More fiddling around. My SCSI card is not supported either.

Yeah.. I researched it... KB 931770  is supposed to fix it, but a lot depends on the hardware. Everyone from the motherboard makers on up are working to get on the same page.. it's still a 32-bit world  Cheesy

Depends on the system specs and what i want to do with it

Gaming use: Vista 64 bit (single machine)
Software development: XP Pro (but Vista Business at work)
General use: tie between XP and Win2K
Problem solving, backup system, anything that involves a lot of drive swapping: Win2K

Russian planes: IL-76 (all standard length ones),  Tu-154 and Il-62, Tu-134 and An-24RV&&&&AI flightplans and repaints can be found here
