Just done a cycle ride to tackle a massive hill known locally as Blagdon roddey, and got some photos to show you. didnt get any of the hill, as i was concentrating too much on getting down in one peice, but suffice to say, its about a 20% hill, some of the road race bikers were struggling up it!

Map of our route:

Only about 40 miles, but lots of uphills which made it challenging. Just some below of blagdon lake and surrounding area, taken from a "bridleway" which doesnt deserve the title, it was more a scramble up the hill. Me and my friend have lightweight hard tail mountain bikes, but we couldn't get any grip on the rocky surface and had to walk most of the way. Took most of these from a clearing at the top of this path

These last two taken from the road running alongside the lake

Nice. Makes me determined to get out on my bike this spring; it's been too long since I took a ride of that magnitude.

Excellent!

Blagdon resevoir, some of the best still water trout fishing in the country.

There is no better way to unwind than sit on that lake, in peace, some beers rolling around in the bottom of the boat, worrying fish and watching the traffic go in and out of Bristol International.

Woot! The season begins again in just over 5 weeks, time to tie some Bristol-Hoppers!

Well unfortunately my cycle mad friend isn't that into planes, and i fear i'd come across a bit loopy ( Tongue) if i suggested we stopped at bristol airport for a bit, however we did go past it, on Winters lane, the spotters perimeter lane, and saw a nice ryanair takeoff and thompson fly land. Also, this whole blagdon roddey came reccomended from a friend, so we wanted to try it out!!
