SOMEBODY! Anybody, please help!!
i'm just looking around for places to downlad aircraft from, but I am totally new to this. When I saw a video on youtube of somebody who had downloaded a plane from this site and uploaded it to their fsx, I was very pleased to have finally discovered the process. I followed his steps, though I had not downloaded anything, I just performed a sort of "walkthrough." However, the moment I attempted his third or so step-getting to the "program files", selecting fsx, etc.- my computer gave me a harsh warning:
DO NOT MODIFY THSES FILES. IT COULD DANGEROUSLY ALTER YOUR COMPUTER'S ABILITY TO FUNCTION PROPERLY. THIS CONTAINS MANY FILES THAT KEEP YOUR COMPUTER RUNNING PROPERLY."
(I have a dell 4600, with windows xp.)  I now am confused. What do I do? Will adding things harm my computer? Is downloading from this website safe? Can I trust this site, if it works and I begin to use it, that it will not send such things as spam?

anyone who can help, please do!
Thanks!

This site is safe. I've downloaded hundreds of things here. Here's what I do, download (save file) then when it goes to the file, before opening it up, rightclick on it click properties then click scan results (so sort of internet sucerity required). If it seems suspicious, don't do it. I wouldn't go around downloading things if I didn't have an internet security suite or protection or something that could scan your computer.

Thursday 3pm weekly scan. Wink

This site is safe. I have like Wii downloaded hundreds of files from scenery to aircraft here. Pete who owns and maintains the site does a very good job at checking over a file and going around the site looking for errors and stuff that aren't good.

The error you see (if I remember correctly) is just a caution to not do something that you shouldn't or don't know to your computer.

Welcome to SimV. Wink
