I am having difficulty placing my aircraft where I want it when I begin a multiplayer session in FSX.  Ideally, I would like to be able to start out at an appropriate gate or parking slot.  However, no matter what I try (inputting the desired location through the flight plan, inputting the desired location in the location selection menu, or both together), my aircraft is always placed on the active runway of the selected airport.

Does anyone know what is causing this and how I can place my aircraft at the gate or parking slip when entering FSX multiplayer?

Thanks much,
Darrin

EDIT:

Well, whatever was not working before is working now.  The problem seems to have cleared itself up.  I wonder if it has anything to do with installing SP2.  Who knows?  Anyway, next challenge, multi-player radio and voice . . .  Wink

Press "Y" and "Slew" into your desired position for the start of the flight.

It's what we do to assemble, before taking off....Wink...!

That certainly would work after loading in.  But, some multi-player groups (like VATSIM) require that you start at a gate when loading in; slewing after will not help.

Still, I will definitely keep this tip in mind when it is just my dad and I tooling about together.

Thanks,
Darrin

I will certainly give that a try, but until then . . .

Tongue Tongue Tongue

I'm a SimV enthusiast, so there!

Also, I have had this problem when just loading up with my dad and I in FSX on the GameSpy servers that Microsoft has sadly saddled us with (they're not so bad, but they are not so great, either).

Still, another good idea.  And should anything else fail to come to light, I may jsut go ahead and crawl over to the VATSIM forums (just what I need to do, join another forum, heh heh).

Thanks again,
Darrin
