Nice catch on that forward slipping Eagle, Doug..........not a very regular occurance at any venue outside of an airshow....

Not always apparent in a photo but it's a common sight at Shoreham or anywhere a number of aerobatic types are based. It's the only practical way to land this type of aircraft. If you check the rudder the Stampe in #3 is also sideslipping although at a gentler angle. (The term 'forward slip' appears to be an American expression.)

It's a Partenavia P68B. We don't see many in this part of the world.
