Visionary genius?
I've been watching large helpings of Captain Scarlet, Joe 90, Thunderbirds and Space 1999 lately.
An awful lot of the things Gerry predicted back in the late 60's seem to have come true in regards to computers and aviation technology. So genius?

LOL!!! That's one for your Top Ten, Pablo!!!  Cheesy

More seriously: The name drew me into this forum, which I rarely visit (except when on patrol as a lurking, ninja-like mod)... my frontal lobe was largely shaped by Fireball XL5Thunderbirds, Stingray, and all the other puppet space operas... fantastic!   Grin

Some may remember my first avatar... Cheesy

I can't say much for Anderson as a prophet of high tech... those concepts had been bandied around since before WWII.
To me, he was more a genius of TV... nobody even came close to doing what that studio could do with puppets and models.

BTW, I have the entire Thunderbirds series on DVD... Cheesy

"F.A.B." !!  Grin

Puppet shows, genius. Live action shows, less than genius. UFO was OK though, loved the flying submarine thing. Why did the Dinky toy models of the Gerry Anderson stuff never have the propper colours? My Space 1999 Eagle was green and so was my UFO inteseptor although that UFO tank thing with the pop out missile launcher was green and that was correct.
When you think about it, we do now have tank things with popout missile launchers, so he got that right, but I don't think we have flying submarine things or space intercepors so he got that bit wrong. Wink Smiley
