I was wondering if i could request a re-paint from someone...

if so then could someone make this repaint for me.

AIRCRAFT : Lear 45
COLOUR : Black w/ white engines
DECAL : I can send the decal in an email to the person if anyone wishes to do it
TEXT : I have an image for the text also whic i would like on the wings.

i could make a quick sketch in paint for it.

i am extremely hopeless at making repaints. Also i just dont understand about the alpha thing so i do not know how to make them but if someone could make this for me then i would be extremely grateful.

Well... I always ask the same question....
Default Lear 45?
FS9 or FSX?
Times have changed and each handles texture differently.

Shaka if you have any kind of paint program, the scheme you are asking for sounds pretty easy.
It would be relatively easy to talk/help you through doing the repaint.
As far as the "Alpha" goes 99% of the time you can use the default 'Alpha'.

Well...Now that Ozzy moved it here it's kind of the wrong place for helping you.
Shaka...Just grab some tutorials out there and give it a go...It is easier than you think.

Well go grab this and all the required .dll's for it.
DXT Bmp....
http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/programs/dxtbmp.htm
Convert everything you need to a 24 bit map texture.
All repaint tutorials will work with FSX right up to point of saving them for FSX...
For that go here....
http://developer.nvidia.com/object/photoshop_dds_plugins.html
Save yourself the heart ache of trying to use DXT Bmp to convert them back to DDS...With the Nvidia plugin CS2 will do it all for you! Smiley

Ive started.
I decided to do the lear because the mooney bravo was much too complicated.

i first tried to change the lear45_T texture to all black but kept the gold line.

this is how it turned out...

...

not sure what i done wrong but if i just coloured the whole thing black would that work as in just saved a completly black image?

Wow...I don't normally do default because of the crummy templates.

...

...

I'm not sure what happened with yours...It looks like you used the wrong template?
You didn't use the default Lear template did you...Because the FSX template is "Flipped Vertical(UpSide Down)!"
What I did was use the default FS9 template and flipped it vertical then drug it on to a FSX texture of the Lear...I left the FS9 template at 64% transparency so you could see the default texture underneath.
Then created a layer for the "Green".

i flipped it to normal way but forgot to flip back. ive done some more.
im not sure what im doing wrong. and yes i used the default lear texture but ill use the one you just linked.

what ive been doing is importing the alpha from the default lear to my new texture lear_T file. also i seem to be getting an extra layer ontop of the image i created and i seem to have the text flipped backwards on oneside...

ill upload some shots... next post.

thanks jeff  Smiley

ohh and also ive just been making the image negative to turn the texture black... is this the wrong way to do it?

thats the one on the default lear. i think it went bad because i copied the alpha channel ffrom the Ler_T file in the texture folder...

When you open the default FSX texture for "Lear45_T.dds" in DXT Bmp you can "Export the alpha"...And save it.
Then when you get the painting done in PhotoShop You can add the 'Alpha' in PhotoShop...
...

Then once you add the 'Alpha Channel' open the Alpha you saved from DXT Bmp in PhotoShop and ctrl-c the 'Alpha' then ctrl-v into the 'Alpha Channel' you made in your repaint then save....
So you now you see why I hate defaults....almost everything is mirrored.
One fuse side one,wing..Etc...
