Still No GA Planes (Read 809 times)

I am still not able to correctly modify my airport. I went into AFCAD 2.21 to my home airport (KAVP) and tried some modifications. Regular airliner traffic (mostly CRJ-200s, Dash 8s, etc.) was parking in the FBO, GA, and hangar area. I changed those discs from "Ramp Small" to "GA Small" and "GA Medium". Now, the airline traffic is correctly parked where the terminal discs are, but I only have GA Cessna 172s and Archers parked where there are discs designated for Cargo. No GAs are where I put the GA discs.
I have Ultimate Traffic (latest upgrade) and have already added the GA planes from FS9 through UT. Also, in AFCAD, when I select the airport, it shows 2 modified airports, one named F1UT_KAVP.bgl and another AF2_KAVP.bgl, in addition to the grayed-out stock airport if this helps. I made the changes to both mod airports and still no GA planes in the GA area. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?? I am new to this so any help or "tutorial" will be appreciated.  Thanks. Tom

I am not that familiar with UT but did you check the airport file and make sure your new file is on that lists and that there is traffic files for it.
IF UT uses TTOOLS to make traffic with it should make two plain .txt files one called airports and one called traffic Cool

Thanks for replying Dave. You hit the nail on the head. I only have a few planes even with 100% traffic selected. How do I get started with the freeware AI? My problem is I need step by step type programs or instructions. Do the freeware designers know there are inexperienced AI users out there? Also, are the right airlines for the geographic locations and particular airports recognized? (such as British Airways being in abundance at Heathrow) Thanks again.  Tom

Wow! Thanks Dave for taking the time to write such a detailed explanation. I will print it out and get started. By the way, is it OK to have Ultimate Traffic installed or should I uninstall it first? Also, I tried to find "World of AI" website and came up empty. Do you have the web address?  regards, Tom Smiley
