What should i do for a hard drive? i gave the one i was going to use away and plus it was only ATA. i was wondering what i can get for a good deal on a decent HD?
Intel P35 ATX Motherboard
Corsair DDR2 2GB RAM
Intel core duo E6550 2.33GHZ proccessor
nVidia GeForce 8600GT 512MB 128-Bit PCI-e
windows xp sp2
EDIT: Also should i upgrade my power supply? i have a 400W power supply right now.

If your M Board supports SATA, that's the way to go. I got a 250gb SATA drive for my new system, cost less than £50!!
400w is a bit low these days but that's what I have and have no problems. So long as you're not running multiple devices together, several HDs, DVDs, etc, then you should be fine.

Doesnt my power supply need a SATA power hook up also and how can i find out if my MOBO is capable of running a SATA HD?

Most SATA drives come with a 4-to-15 pin adaptor
There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!
