Curious. FSX has been out what, a year + now? Which means it was in developement for say, a few years prior to release? Which means, lets just say 3 years ago, older technology was used to create this sim. That being said, I am trying to understand why with todays tecnology, say for example the rig I am building, with all the components, and nice ones I think for the money, won't put a dent in the sim as far as smooth graphics, autogen up, traffic, etc.

Another example is say, I am playing Crysis at max everything. This just came out. COD4 maxed out. This just came out as well. I mean we're talking shock and awe type explosions, gun fights, the works. Then, you feel like getting in the clouds for awhile after a couple hours of killing things on the ground, on the same rig, and can't even get off the run way without severe studdering or what have you?

I assure you I am by no means a computer genius. Hell, I'll be lucky if my up and comming build doesn't blow up in my face (it won't). But for the life of me I can't understand how a 2-3 year old flightsim (R&D and then release of FSX) kills computers and these higher end games do not. Well I am sure they put a hit on newer rigs too, but thats not my point.

What did they build technology wise to create FSX? Was it developed out there in Roswell? Did they really create HAL from the movie 2001 to create this flightsim?......................IT"S A FLIGHTSIM!!!!!!

Simple math (again not a computer genius)

Average rig with great specs to run crysis.....Say 1800

Rig needed to fly FSX in all it's glory..............5-6000 dollars?????
From technology almost 3 years ago????? A DVD disc, created for us to fly, from almost (R&D,release) 3 years ago.............

Again, I am by know means a computer genius. I love flying in all it's aspecs especially simming. I have owned and flown just about everything out there in relation to simming and combat flight sims since i was probly12-13.

It just boggles the mind that this is the first sim to come out that needs a master computer from say NASA or the Pentigon to fly. It makes no sense to me at all............................My 2 cents.
