I was thinking of writing a small 'stub' article for Simviation at wikipedia - since there doesn't currently appear to be any article at all on the subject of the 'V'. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to help, since;

1; I'm not familiar with all of the site by any means
2; I'm not the greatest at working with wikipedia's code entries that you have to do to put in pictures, links etc...

good idea or not? Ideas and opinions welcome... was just an idea that came to me recently as a small way of giving something back to Simviation...

I'm happy with that. It's true that Simviation was the 1st FS site to be included in Wiki - They must have put it in themselves way back years ago. Then about 2006 it got 'edited' to make it one that the Wiki staff considered worht removing. I don't know who did this --- I suppose an idividual who didn't like us. It's a shame people can do this!

A well written article would be very much appreciated! It has to comply with Wiki standards of being informive & relevant (or whatever) otherwise it will be removed.

Anyone who did this well would be considered of VERY great merit & it would not be forgotten. 

It would be best to put the article here 1st for suggestion & editing if necessary otherwise it could be counterproductive.

Simviation (www.simviation.com) is a specialised website for users of the software series "Microsoft Flight simulator". It was founded in [?] by Pete Daly, and was then known as 'the strip'. It is  currently considered to be one of the top three sites dedicated to flight simulation, the others being (I don't know them, so if someone could insert them here it'd be great). The website hosts free aircraft, scenery and other free add-ons for use by flightsim enthusiasts. The premise of Simviation.com is information sharing, to the advantage of its users rather than detrimental criticism which is known by most web users to be prevalent amongst web forums. The forums are widely reputed as, and indeed marketed by Simviation's administration staff, as being a 'family forum' - the emphasis is on a friendly atmosphere - and this atmosphere is maintained by a team of administration staff as well as Pete Daly. This is part of what makes the site so attractive to flight simulator users.

In wikipedia terms, a stub is a small article. I thought this might be a good point to start at, rather than trying to go the whole hog straight away.

I think what might help is if pete posted his list of what he thinks are the biggest features of this site, and then we write a section of the article about each... that way we can be more thorough in our coverage.

& Also Simteevee is intended for all PC games once we get it properly set up. PC FS is a very limited horizon in videos given that there is just one publisher.

Yes, but it is a major and relevant topic in the site currently, so I think it should be metioned... at least while the change remains recent. Remember, wiki articles can always be edited later on.

We could simply have a line that says; the forums currently run on Yabb 2.2 forum software.
