Quick problem

When i got a new MOBO i went to Vista and did a fresh Vista install, previously i had XP sp2.  I copied all my files to dvd's and then copied them back onto the new setup.  Now if i open up a word or notepad document i created on the XP setup it opens up a blank document in the Vista setup?????

Any ideas?

All of my uni work (3 years worth) now just opens up as blank documents Angry

Switch back to XP?

Everyone has their own idea about what the make-up of a good operating system should be, (and before anyone jumps on me, this is just my opinion Wink I'm NOT bashing) but the proof is, as they say, "in the pudding".

While browsing my local office supply shops this past week, I did a price comparison of the software available, and discovered something VERY interesting....

While the latest and greatest, Vista Ultimate upgrade is going for around $260 usd,  the upgrade for XP Pro was selling for $299 usd.( neither was a sale price, and I don't recall the prices for the full install disks, but the difference was similar with XP costing more)
Huh Shocked

Why is XP STILL being sold at a higher price. Things that make you go "Hmmm"

For my money, I gotta go with what works.

Nah im liking Vista  Smiley

I just don't get why it won't work, the software (office 2003) is the same and everything is Microsoft (Vista/XP/Office).  Is it just me who has this problem or is it all round, which would mean compatability issue Huh

If you right click on the file and then try opening it in Word and see what happens Wink
