Christmas has gone ...2008's here... along with our first update for the year !

First up for the new HJG year are a selection of 21 new aircraft files covering classic and modern jetliners from the 1970's, 80's, 90's, and this new millennium.

Featured among these are some great liveries representing the Caribbean, Europe, Middle East, both North and South America, Scandinavia, and the United Kingdom.

New B707's include -320C's operated by a modern day Brazillian freight carrier, 2 Peruvian Air Force liveries from the 1990's, and an extremly rare US registered -420 once used as a VIP/corporate transport during the late 1970's ...among other interesting B707-120B, -320B, & -420 aircraft. Another a rare CV880 freighter from 1981 is available ...as is also a megga rare natural metal liveried CV990-A operated by a major European carrier during 1964. Among new DC8's is a tribute to the very last of the type ever produced by Douglas ...a SUPER 63 supported by 3 Scandinavian liveries, and SUPER 62F & 63F aircraft operated by a lesser known modern day freight carrier from Brasil. Love'em or hate'em the British Airways "World Tails" debate will likely continue forever ...but... all 5 liveries applied to the airlines BAe 146/RJ-100 fleet between 1999 and 2001 have been faithfully reproduced by HJG.

An updated "FUEL MANAGEMENT TUTORIAL" has been released to benefit more technically inclined virtual pilots among us. Users of the HJG/CARTY B707/720/C135 panels for FS2004 and FSX will find this information extremly useful.

Revised FDE for HJG BAe 146-300 & -300QT aircraft have also been uploaded and result in some nice flight and ground handling improvements for these models.

FSX users of HJG's recently updated DC8 panels will likely have encountered minor Auto-Pilot performance issue, as well as a Flight Director problem which affected both FSX and FS2004. The origin of these problems has been identified and fixed. A new DC8 PANELS CORE FILES package is now available for download. Folk are encouraged download and replace their original DC8 panel gauges with this new set. PLEASE NOTE: This is a "GAUGES/CORE FILES" replacement only. There is no need to change any of the new HJG DC8 panels downloaded since the DECEMBER 19th 2007 update. The HJG forum is the place to enquire for further information regarding this.

Folks ....

Please accept our sincere applogies but there has been a slight hick-up with the recently uploaded HJG DC8 panel files

PLEASE NOTE: This affected just the recently "DC8 PANELS CORE FILES" (panel guages and sounds) package only.

The 10 recently updated DC8 aircraft panel files are not in any way affected.

OK .... what happened is our new "DC8 PANELS CORE FILES" package did not upload properly. This resulted in an earlier version contaiining some faulty gauges being downloaded by everyone.

PLEASE NOTE: We have now fixed this problem.

The correct "DC8 PANELS CORE FILES" is now downloadable. This contains a critical "DC8SW.GAU" file dated ....

"JANUARY 3RD 2008"

If you have downloaded the HJG DC8 PANELS GAUGES/CORE FILES prior to today then please redownload these and replace your original files with this new/correct version.

Before attempting downloading I suggest refreshing your internet browsers first .... "just to be on the safe side".

Check the date of the "DC8SW.GAU" file you download and install is dated as indicated above .... "JANUARY 3RD 2008".

Either remove the older gauge files from your FS GAUGES folder and replace them with these new/correct versions .... or .... just overwrite your existing files with these new/correct versions.

Forgive me for harping .... but .... I need to spell out the following as clearly as possible ....

1. If you have installed the latest DC8 aircraft panels uploaded on "December 19th 2007" .... then for you this is just a straightforward gauges/core files replacement.

2. If you have installed DC8 aircraft panel versions earlier than "December 19th 2007" .... then for you this is both a DC8 aircraft panel and gauges/core files replacement. In this case you "MUST" replace all previous DC8 aircraft panels and gauges/core files you have installed with these newest versions. Do not try taking short cuts by applying thsee new gauges/core files to old DC8 aircraft panel versions .... "THEY SIMPLY WILL NOT WORK". This will and result in either missing gauges or blank sub panels. Significant chnges have been made to these new panels and their supporting gauge files.

3. If you are installing the DC8 for the very first time .... then for you this is straightforward and routine installation process which follows most established FS conventions. Simply follow the instructions provided within each download.

We also recommended installing the latest DC8 Aircraft Base Packs uploaded on "December 19th 2007". This means replacing all older DC8 aircraft base packs with these newest versions. This is desirable because of minor FDE improvements which have recently been incorporated into all our DC8 aircraft files.

Please accept our sincere applogies for any inconvenience !
