...in the Honda Civic R-Type!! It's 'a bit boxy' but I love the paint job, it handles very well too and is fast enough to be fun. 5 edited TOCA3 pics...
I'm going to add older TOCA threads to this one so I don't clog up so much of the forum - I've got 3 sets to post today
Thanks for looking in!

...we're karting. Found out that FRAPS will take pics in TOCA 3 so here are some mildly edited pics from the karting championship which I completed tonight. The camera in the replay is truly poor... and the horridness of the top of the back of the seat in the rear view just stabs you in the eye (a lot about this 'sim' seems to be a bit half-a$$ed in fact) but otherwise they came out alright I guess...

great shots.
The one thing I love about TOCA is no matter how much grip you should have, you'll always have more in that game.
A key example I like to use is the F1 car round silverstone,
Lap record in real life, is 1:18 in 2004 by Michael Schumacher. Basically in the absolute fastest F1 car there has been.
Lap record in Toca using the williams, 1:09, no corner cutting or cheating.
Great fun though.

Woah! Looks like they spent more time on the sky than on modelling the rest of the game! It loks great! (the sky)

Craig I'm only a casual 'player' rather than simmer so it doesn't bother me that the dynamics are a bit off. I like it that you can change the difficulty level drastically to suit your skills... but if I were really serious about racing I'd probably buy something by SimBin or that old Richard Burns game instead or whatever. I agree that TOCA 3 is great fun though!
The variety here is what I like, and Sytse the models of more 'important' cars are generally better - there's great variation. The minor league stuff looks like it was made in a few hours, the 'core' stuff looks cool. But not as cool as their darn 'screenshots from the sim' that were actually photoshopped renders of what they thought would attract people to buy it
The most unforgivable things for me about TOCA 3 are a. the rubbish camera views as I like taking screenshots and b. the ABYSMAL 'virtual cockpits' which are either a smudged pixellated mess that only vaguely resembles a dashboard, or some kind of ovoid black shiny rubber lump with no instruments on it whatsoever. It is this most of all that gives it away that TOCA 3 isn't a serious racing sim, and that they tried to include too much.
Having said that...once again I love it that I can race buggies, trucks, V8s, F1 cars etc...and that each type handles noticeably differently and requires different techniques - it's a challenge, a bit like a puzzle to solve.
About the sky though - it's just a static texture as far as I've noticed - there's no dynamic changing weather, the clouds don't move, nothing like that. Does look nice though!

I remeber the first DTM(wich is how its called here) wich was really great, although the dynamics always seemed a bit off, not too bad for me though, since i never have owned a steering wheel anyway.

That scenery looks very flat indeed
Still, I am addicted to go-karting after going with my air cadet squadron 2 weeks ago. Its just so much fun!

Renault Alpine 'championship'
I was surprised to see the makers of the famous 'Colin' series made large swathes of this 'rally' event as a kind of bumpy tunnel, a bit like a bobsleigh run...
Great fun though the car took a bit of punishment from my not exactly ept handling.
Slightly photoshopped as you can see - hope you like anyway!

In case you were wondering... yes, the car did have a brief introduction to the gatepost in picture two. We really enjoyed it - a smashing experience

one of the better parts of toca. excellent shots mate, I am guessing shot two was followed by you needing to buff out a dent in the rear of the car.

Cheers Craig, yep, you're absolutely right....one big bang. The co-driver's false teeth flew out of the window and when we went back to look for them after the race someone had nicked them

I wanted to combine the three threads from TOCA3 but somehow knocked this down the forum.
I know that someone, somewhere, must be burning with a desire to see these pics so "bump"
