Just an idea... IMO it would be good to increase the 'weight' limit in the photo section to 1mb or more (for example). Keeping the 100kb limit on pictures but then increasing the amount you can post means that there won't be as many parts and the forum will be less cluttered. Also, after a major airshow such as RIAT where numerous members go there is often many different parts meaning that only some get feedback/views. I think the 500kb limit in the screenshot forum (apart from StudioV?) should stay as this means that only the best screenshots will get posted.

Cheers.  Wink

The 100kb limit per image and the 500 max per thread are so that those who are not on broadband can still enjoy the forums (and there are quite a few non-broadband regulars around) Wink
So I don't think it'll change anytime soon!

Fair enough, but bear in mind I was only suggesting this for the photo forum.  Wink Smiley

Then the photo forum would have been impossibly slow for non-broadband users. The 100/500 limit seems to be the best balance we can achieve.
This is why I hate people who link images 'cos it brings my machine to a screaming halt Roll Eyes Angry

I wonder...What difference will it make if the bar was upped to 110KB? Does 10KB make a world of a difference? Don't get me wrong, I'm just curious Undecided

Scene as the Limit is 500kb why cant there be Shots over 100kb? if you have 5 100kb photos its not going to take that long to load 2 200kb shots or 1 500kb Shots  Huh

Don't forget it's not just about viewing shots, uploading has to be taken into consideration too... the upload page would be at a crawl if you were on 56k dial up and had to upload a 500kb file.
100kb may take time to upload but is 5 times quicker than 500kb (obviously).  Wink

Trust me, i'm not going to upload a 500kb image on slow dialup even if the forum rules would allow. I'm gonna shrink, crop, tweak, & compress the heck out of it... Grin

& what's the point of going over 100KB? Remember that some of the greatest shots we've ever seens here have been 70K!
